LegalClarity Inc. ("LegalClarity", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario's applicable privacy legislation.
To help your assigned licensed professional prepare efficiently, the situation description you provide at intake may be processed by a third-party artificial intelligence service (Anthropic's Claude) to generate a structured summary brief for your provider. This is an automated step that runs for every booked session. The AI-generated brief is used solely by your assigned licensed professional in preparing for your session — it is not legal advice and is not a substitute for your provider's own independent professional judgment.
Your situation description and session notes are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Access is limited to your assigned licensed professional and platform administrators for dispute resolution purposes only.
Consultation session notes are transmitted to you by email and are not retained by LegalClarity beyond the purpose of that transmission. We treat all legal intake information as confidential. LegalClarity is the technology platform only — solicitor-client privilege, if applicable, exists between you and your licensed professional, not with LegalClarity.
No recording: LegalClarity does not record, capture, or store any audio or video of your session, and has no technical ability to access the content of the call itself. Post-session notes sent to you are your provider's own written summary, not a transcript. If you want a record of what was discussed, you are responsible for keeping your own notes.
We retain your account and session records for seven (7) years from the date of your last session as required by Canadian financial record-keeping obligations. You may request earlier deletion of personal data as described below.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.
You have the right to: access your personal information; correct inaccurate data; withdraw consent; and request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at legalclarityco@gmail.com or use the account deletion feature in your dashboard.
If you are located in Quebec, your personal information is additionally protected under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). You have the same access, correction, and deletion rights described above, exercisable through the same contact channel.
In the event of a data breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA.
